Healthy Weight Loss Per Week Kg
What is a healthy weight loss per week kg? This could be different for everyone depending on where you are with your physiology. Perhaps you have already got that beach body and looking to get a little more firm for those beach photo opportunities. Are you at a point in life where it is time to finally take back control of your body and get back in shape?
Before you can understand how much weight loss per week is realistic, you need to know how to actually lose weight. The body is not as complicated in this area. If we eat too much it stores energy as fat. If we don’t eat enough it uses fat as energy. 1 kg is roughly 2.2 pounds and each pound is the equivalent of 3500 calories. Your body will use calories during the day regardless if you are exercising. For most people this is around 2000.
Healthy Weight Loss Per Week
If your body uses 2000 calories a day to keep it working and you add another 500 calories a day in exercise the total daily consumption of calories is 2500. If you eat 3500 calories in 1 day, that creates an excess of 1000. The body will store some or all of those extra calories and we call that fat. If you are looking to lose weight, you will need to have an overall daily or weekly average deficit.
The body is smart enough to let you accumulate that deficit over time. So if you are consuming 2500 calories and you eat only 2000 calories per day then the 500 calorie deficit will add up over time. As long as you are consistent, in 7 days you will have a total deficit of 3500 calories which your body will have burned for energy from the fat storage. You will have lost 1 pound or 0.5 kg in a week.
You can work this formula backwards even more and then actually attempt to follow the numbers by eating the amount and burning the excess. However, these are estimates so it is vital to know a little more accurately exactly what your body uses and how much activity you are consistently doing on a daily basis.
